Blender crash on enabling of boolean modifier
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

--- Operating System, Graphics card ---
Win7 GTX5

--- Blender version with error, and version that worked ---
2.66 r55203

--- Short description of error ---

Instant crash on enabling of boolean modifier.

--- Steps for others to reproduce the error (preferably based on attached .blend file) ---

Open the example file... enable the boolean modifier (click the eye)... and it crashes instantly. If I move the selected model (blu) down significantly it doesn't crash.

Event Timeline

Goes OK in both 2.66a release, and in svn. (OSX 10.7 imac)

I had some guys on #blender check as well and they didn't get a crash either.

I don't get a crash in 2.65a and 2.66a, but anything more recent... it does crash every time.

in 2.66a I get a Face loop error in the console even though the modifier does run.

I get no crash in 54697
I get a definite crash in r55203

That's as narrow as I can get it.

Maybe it's one of the addons there?

Set 'factory settings' first, then load file.

no sorry... still crashes... even after "load factory settings"

After more checking... I got confirmation from another windows user that he also gets the crash in recent builds (including current svn).

I also got one for whom the boolean worked on windows on build: r55078

This is likely windows-specific issue. Booting to windows to look into this issue right now.

Fixed in svn rev55460. Thanks for the report, closing.
