Render Layer from other Scene does not respect Sequencer
Closed, ArchivedPublic

Description

--- Operating System, Graphics card ---
osx 10.8.3, macbook pro 6.2, 8GB Ram, gt330m

--- Blender version with error, and version that worked ---
2.66a, 2.67
havent't found one working

--- Short description of error ---
Having 3 Scenes, two contain Sequencer Movie, linked in Compositor oh third. If i render each of the two from within Scene they show correct result after Sequencer. Now in the third one where they are linked in Comp - they show the 3d Render - not the Sequencer Result.

Does the Compositor Render Layer not import the Render Results?
--- Steps for others to reproduce the error (preferably based on attached .blend file) ---
Go to Scene Bright, hit f12, look result.
Go to Scene Dark, hit f12, look result.

Go to Scene Comp, hit f12 and see.

Event Timeline

It's a known limitation, the sequencer sits at the very end of the 3D render => compositing => sequencing pipeline. The design is to use the compositor to render shots, and the sequencer to combine those shots and add sound. Also note that if things worked this way you'd get a loop if you would have a single scene with compositing nodes and sequencer strips.

In principle it could be made more flexible, but for now this is just how things were intended to work.
