Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

--- Operating System, Graphics card ---
Windows 64, Quadro 4000

--- Blender version with error, and version that worked ---
Blender 2.67 error, Blender 2.65a works fine

--- Short description of error ---
I tested with Quick Smoke, the Alpha does not seem to render like before.

--- Steps for others to reproduce the error (preferably based on attached .blend file) ---
Just create Quick Smoke, hit render. It does not render Alpha like before anymore ...

Event Timeline

I could not find a real difference between 2.65 and 2.67.
Make sure to switch from "Sky" to "Transparent" in the Shading panel (Alpha setting). The Alpha pipeline changed in Blender 2.66.

@Thomas

That fixes the "issue" I am having with Smoke and Fire alpha.

I really did not know about this Alpha pipeline change and this is actually really important.
I bet many people are asking the same questions. I should add it into my BLOG and NOTES.

Thanks a lot Thomas, this is very helpful.

Ok, I updated it in my blog. Personally I think the default of Alpha should be "Transparent", and not "Sky".

Or maybe add a little snippet that tell user to make sure to change Alpha to Transparent somewhere that user can easily see.

Glad it works now for you, closing.
