Deleting part of imported AVI file crashes Sequencer

Fedora 18 x86_64, Intel HD 3000
Also tested on another laptop - Ubuntu 13.04, Nvidia Optimus.

Error happens on Blender 2.68


--- Short description of error ---
This happens when I work with the sequencer.
I cut an imported avi file (Shift+K), selecting one of resulting pieces and press X to delete that piece. Blender crashes. Reproducible every time.

--- Steps for others to reproduce the error (preferably based on attached .blend file) ---
1. Launch blender, switch to the Sequencer
2. Import sample file - https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/15516795/out-36.avi
3. Select imported strip, place time cursor somewhere in the middle of it and hit SHIFT+K
4. Make sure one of cut parts selected and hit X on the kwyboard
5. Blender crashes.
