Menubars dissapear in face select mode.
Closed, ArchivedPublicKNOWN ISSUE

Description

I'm running Blender 2.40 on Windows 2000 SP$, Radeon 9800XT, P4 2.0 GHz 1GB RAM.

When I switch into face select mode with the FKEY, then some of my menubars dissapear. You can see this on the screenshot below. The main menu bar and the invidiual for the upper views are gone.

When I move the mouse around the menubars are coming and going as you can see on this other screenshot. Here some of them are there again, while others dissappeared instead. The flickering seems to happen whenever I cross over a view boundary into the other.

This problem happens only in face select mode. At least I haven't seen it in other modes that I used. I also restarted Blender and it persists whenever I go to face select. When I brush with the mouse over the gone menubars, the individual items refresh and are usuable, so it seems to be a drawing problem. I didn't have this problem with 2.73a.

The scene is pretty simple, but I can provide the Blenderfile, in case it might help.

Hi could you confirm this is still a problem in current CVS? You can get a testing build from blender.org testing builds forum.

Also please do provide a blend file.

No reason to test current cvs nor to provide a blend file now.

This is an OpenGL glitch... the only weird thing is that you report the 2.37 release did not have this problem. I would advise to check this again carefully, maybe you've installed new ATI drivers in the meantime? And try it with the bugfix release 2.41 too, in 2.40 an enormous amount of if issues were tackled.

If the problem remains, check on the blender.org gfx faq for hints too. Like setting display depth to 16/24/32 bits, making the window smaller, not fullscreen, and turning off all accelleration completely. Lastly; try this same setup on a different machine.

This is a generic request to test your bug report and see if it is still an issue in 2.5alpha2 if so please let me know by making a comment in this report ie 'also in 2.5alpha2' and I will add it to the 2.5 bug list.
