Render shows fewer particles than 3D view

The enclosed .blend file uses a particle system to cover the cylinder with greebles randomly chosen from a group of simple objects. I also enclose a screenshot of the 3D view and a final render. The final render shows noticeably fewer particles than the 3D view--note the empty spaces near the top of the nearer end face, as well as a few other places. How is this possible? The display percentage is set at 100, so they should both be the same, should they not?

you have one or more of your greeble objects duplication set to "group" in the object button, which makes them not render.
