Cycles Renderer crashes when trying to render a tutorial file from BlenderGuru.com
==============================================================
--- Steps for others to reproduce the error (preferably based on attached .blend file) ---
==============================================================
1. Download Cobblestone tutorial .blend file from BlenderGuru.com: http://www.blenderguru.com/videos/the-secrets-of-realistic-texturing/
2. Keep all settings as is and hit the 'Render' button.
note: this file renders fine on lesser machine (PC, Windows 7, Intel i3, 4GB RAM, NVIDIA Quadro NVS 295)

Render do not crash here, everything works fine.
debian wheezy 7.2, Gnome 3.4.2, Linux version 3.2.0-4-amd64, NVIDIA GTX 560 (Driver Version 319.60)
It usually helps a lot if you strip file down to minimal case which demonstrates the crash. 90Mb file is not so easy to look into and really time consuming.
I tested on OS X and for me it is the other way around. Blender 2.68 crashes but Blender 2.69 RC3 works fine.
The crash in 2.68 seems related to packed images, so could you test if File > External Data > Unpack into files in 2.69 RC3 avoids the issue for you?
Brecht, I unpacked the file and still Blender abruptly crashes upon render attempt. I'm wondering if it is a memory issues because I was able to get the Blender Guru Cherry Blossom tutorial file to render, which is a smaller file size. The strange thing though is that I don't run out of memory with 2.68 if it is the case? I can keep testing various things. On a side note Brecht. I'd like to volunteer some time for UI stuff. I can design icons or whatever. I believe you are the guy to talk to about that? If so, what is the best way to get in contact with you? Thanks. Jon.
For UI stuff, I will announce how to get involved in a few weeks, currently we're not quite ready yet.
@jon nutting (jonnut) Can you please re-check with a current build from the Buildbot? http://builder.blender.org/download/
