Broken: (example: 2.69.7 4b206af, see splash screen)
Worked: (optional)
2.7

Short description of error
Near sensor isn't working on Pumpkin tutorial. Isn't matching the tutorial precisely and have unwanted results.
Tube cleaner, expression isn't working well and problem with bullet-collision-enemy.
Still using outdated GameLogic codes.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Based on a (as simple as possible) attached .blend file with minimum amount of steps
Follow GameKit ebook closely with Blender 2.7, not 2.48. Set near sensor to 4.00, it doesn't limit range, but provides infinite range.
Tube cleaner, same as above. Using expression didn't function properly at first.
GameLogic had to be changed to bge, but when not changed, still runs but with unexpected results. Open file, and run it.

Please provide an example blend file demonstrating the problem. Also, it appears you have multiple reports listed here. In the future, please have only one bug per report (it helps us organize the reports).

The first two issues noted don't make much sense without some sort of reference (like a blend file, or the relevant part of the book). As for the third issue, starting with Blender 2.5, the module name were reorganized. GameLogic should still work for bge.logic for backwards compatibility. "[R]uns but with unexpected results" doesn't really help. What is it doing that it should not be doing?

Okay. I've set the Distance to 4.00 and reset to 0.00. No matter how far I get from the door, it still run the animation to open the door. One solution I had was to reduce it to 2.7 but it will be in the path of the door as it is opening. If I tried to set it to 2.800 it open no matter how far I get away from the door.

The part of the book that I'm having problem is the near sensor. Setting it to 4.000 as the book said didn't limit the range of how close I have to be to activate it.

For the subracer game (the one with the GameLogic), It was supposed to add objects for bubbles and for the guns. When I looked at the subracer from behind, nothing was added, no bubbles. When I pressed "fire" it doesn't produce anything in front of the ship, sounds are run but nothing is added.

The door is detecting collisions with the floor. This is a bug in the file, seemingly. The floor should not have the Actor flag enabled, or alternatively, the player should have a property which is filtered by the door, or use collision groups

That fixed the problem. It wasn't covered in the ebook GameKit 2. Thanks for the help! Are anyone planning on updating the Gamekit 2 to match the more modern version of Blender? That may help prevent future posting of bugs that could've been avoided.

As far as I can tell, GameKit development looks dead :/

Last update was January 18, 2014.

By an unfortunate coincidence there Is a book with the same name as a BGE of spin (Gamekit). Here we talk about the book I believe

Mitchell Stokes (moguri) changed the task status from Unknown Status to Resolved.May 27 2014, 9:06 PM

The most recent BGE book I know of is Game Development with Blender by Dalai Felinto and Mike Pan. I don't know if the GameKit book will see any future updates or a new edition, but I'm doubtful it will.
