one Tera Hard Disk

Blender Version
Blender 2.71 for windows of 64 bits

Short description of error
The bug occurs when you install the new version. both the installer and the zip folder have the same bug. Annex bug image displayed ... even though it says finished ainstalcion to start the program continues with the bug.
installing the version for 32-bit windows works perfect. Re install the version 2.71 and back to install the windows version 2.70a 64-bit and runs well.

This drawback is presented to me in this configuration ... but earlier versions do not show any Bug.

Install the file on a 2GHz Core 2 Duo, 4 GB Ram Graphic Card without no problem.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
when installing or running the new version 2.71

This is not an install issue, Blender is installed, but it fails to start and crashes…

First of all, we need your exact OS version (Win8.1 has a bunch of driver issues :/ ).

Next, we'd need the crash file generated by Blender (in theory), as well as any message from its console (please run it from a commandline to get it).

Also, be sure to have the latest drivers installed.

remember that this bug only occurs in the two files for 64-bit windows, both the installer and the portable. The 32 bit version works fine.

Good, I have a question. which is the difference of using Blender version 2.71 for Windows 64-bit and 32-bit same. Bug posing for my computer AMD A10 5800K 3.8 GHz, 8GB Ram, Graphic Card Radeon HD 6670 and Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. As work 32 bit version?

I have same issue using Windows 8.0.
2.71 64 bit installs but on start up I only get a white blank screen with the Blender icon in the corner.
2.71 32 bit install works fine.
System Model Qosmio X875

Good. Well I see that retook Bug. yet I tell them to install the version for windows 7 professional 64 bit SP1. Reinstall Blender 2.71 for Windows 64-bit and it worked. It was a matter of updating the windows. Thank you.

@Juan Carlos Murcia (PranaB) after 4776d80a it actually should also work in windows 7 pre SP1 although I really really advice to update your windows anyway.
