Description

System Information
Windows 7 64Bit / i7 2500K / GTX460

Blender Version
Broken: blender-2.71-6891f1c-win64 and various older versions (first tested on 2.63)

Description of error
While painting with big brush and Bleed option set to something other than 0 strange artifacts on edges adjacent to seams appear. I think blender have issues with detecting real mesh seams properly.

See on video below that painting on legs cause artifacts on armpit.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

Open blendfile and paint something on mesh with big brush.

Note that my mesh was imported from obj file and does not contains seam mark on edges but it also happen on meshes created in blender and with proper seam marks.

We have so many bug reports with seams that I really, really have to take a closer look into the system. Just changing numerical values for thresholds doesn't cut it anymore.

All, right I pushed a fix but there are still some seaming issues. One issue is that the seam bleed overlaps other islands. This will have to be taken care of by artists. The other issue is that the seam polygons intersect each other. To fix that without hurting performance too much we need bigger changes so I'll postpone for now. I hope this will make things better for now though already - still painting with this kind of gradients will show some artifacts at the seams still.
