open this, select rendered shading mode,
look on node output, material viewer, render result, we will see incorrect color.

The things here are:

  • Material input node doesn't use node setup of that material, which is how it was designed. So from this point of view render and viewport results are correct.
  • Blender only have one preview per material, which currently renders the final material. This conflicts with the preview of the input materials (on the right of the material slot), but it's not something which is easy to solve.

So long story short: render works correct, only icons for the material input nodes in the slots list are wrong, which isn't that bad and which would require some major refactor. Wouldn't consider this a bug, more like a TODO.
