There is a gap in between the actual end frame and the frame that blender shows

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

In the video sequencer got to the last frame.

For some videos the only way to get proper length is to generate timecodes. There's a quick introduction to them there http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/User:Nazg-gul/ProxyAndTimecode There is also a TODO item about making timecodes generating automatically.

So thanks for the report, but just generate timecodes manually for now.
