I’m sorry, but this is not a valid bug report, by far. Please follow our submission guidelines and template, with complete OS and Blender info (including exact blender hash), precise description of the issue, .blend file, etc. etc.

I am sorry trying to post this quickly but let me explain this a bit more... All the menus allow you to move them around but not the physics chooser. However it can be moved by dragging a menu on top of it. This should be disabled so that you can not drag a menu a top of it.

Heee, you're talking about panels, not menus here. And we need to know how you manage to do that, here I can assure you I cannot drag anything above a headless panel (like your 'physic chooser', but also materials list in mat buttons, etc.).

Enable a physics type then using the ... on top of ... drag it above the physics type chooser. I think this is what you are asking?

Yes, but I cannot get a normal panel above an headless one that way… maybe make a short video demo (to be sure I do not miss something obvious here)?

I'm also not able to recreate... maybe try the usual things: Factory settings, test with buildbot, ...

If you can open this requires internet explorer :(

Christ man, can't you use a usual format everyone can read? or youtube & co even???

can you point me to a free screen recorder?

I will use a series of screen shots

@Julian Eisel (Severin) factory settings does not change anything and I am using most current blender version blender-2.73- 8a28895 -win64

Well… no, since none of us so far could redo this. Did you try factory settings (--factory-startup command line option)? Might be an addon doing strange things with panels, or your startup file having some strange panel configuration…

I tried that but not from the command line. does it make a difference?

Command line does not make a difference

Does anyone need anything more from me?

Adding Campbell and Sergey to see whether they have more ideas here…

Read though the reports, & still can't make sense of it.

Seems like its related to the order of panels?

@Aaron Carlisle (Blendify), could you explain steps in detail?

@Bastien Montagne (mont29), the report needs more info but relax!
(no need to be grumpy).

@Aaron Carlisle (Blendify), some questions:

  • Does it happen with any panel in the physics context?
  • Does this happen in other contexts (i.e. are you able to move panels above "unmovable" panel in material, particle contexts)?
  • Any chance you can test other computer or other OS (linux, osx)?

Oh actually! Nevermind previous comment, it's dead easy to reproduce the issue on windows.

I would not have ever expected this to be OS-specific… :/

Let me see what I can do.

Does Anybody need anything...I think you all answered your own questions

Adding @Martijn Berger (juicyfruit) For his windows 8.x computer just in case

This happens for other header less panels e.g. materials

Did not think this would be windows bug ether. i will add more info to the description
