Blender Version

Broken: 2.73 bbf09d9

Short description of error

When exporting a model as a 3ds file, when attempting to load that file into a C++ program, it is observed there is no shininess, transparency or spectral exponent chunks. Possibly more, I have yet to investigate fully. I am new to blender and the chances of user error are quite high, but even if I have missed some export option, importing and exporting the same 3ds should have the same result, and it should be noted that this error can result in obscenely high spectral exponent and shininess values if the chunk is missing (if variables are left uninitialised in the users program), making the model useless.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

The exact model I used was NewSquirrel.3ds from openframeworks.cc, I imported that into blender, then exported it untouched. the file size went from 127kb to 104kb. I then used openframeworks ofx3DModelLoader and looked at the contents of the 3ds file using their model3DS::readChunk(). The error exists when creating my own model with a new material too.
