The issue is not in the blender side and nothing we can do about this. The root of the issue is caused by unified memory model introduced by NVidia quite recently and those changes are not adopted properly by some distros still. See i.e. topic https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topic/770371/cuda-6-5-not-performing-any-computation-under-ubuntu-14-04-64bit/ to check how to fix the issue.

So thanks for the report, but it's just tweaks you need to do on your side or to report to your distro bug tracker.
