Meta data stamp does not burn in using hardware render from the VSE editor

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

Add a scene strip to the vse editor
Turn on stamp output under meta data roll out in properties window. Check some sub options like time, date, ect.
In version 2.74 turning on the stamp option ( now renamed meta data ) would render scene info in hardware from the scene 3d window and in hardware from the vse editor. It would also render using the software rendering options.

In 2.75a and 2.76b turning on stamp output will only add a burn in using the hardware render from the 3d viewport and using the software render. It won't work using hardware render from the vse window if your trying to output a series of scene strips. I tried this with png, exr and mpeg movies and the result was the same. Turning on "show meta data" in the view option of the vse window gives the same result. No burn in.

This isn't a bug (in that its not some software error or mistake).

However it would be good to support this, I've proposed a differential, see: D1592
