Blender 2.7x crashes
Closed, ArchivedPublic

Description

System Information
OpenSUSE 12.3, 64 bit, 12G RAM,
Nvidia GE Force 210

Blender Version
Broken: 2.76, 2.76a, 2.76b f337fea
Worked: 2.75a
Sorry, I don't have another system to test on.

Short description of error
Blender crashes without warning and doesn't give any error messages. "Recover last session" option opens a file a couple of days old. These crashes do not seem to generate crash reports. It seems as if Blender becomes suspended in memory then is just dropped without the system "noticing".

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Based on a (as simple as possible) attached .blend file with minimum amount of steps

I haven't been able to replicate this though it happens about once a week. I generally shut the system down at night and don't have a lot of other programs open. I'm attaching the .blend file and the most recent crash report I could find.

I’m sorry, but we are not going to be able to do anything without a reproducible case (crash report is not really useful here). If issue was common to all linux distro, it would have been reported (and reproduced) since months, so it’s likely something specific to your system. You can try to update it (suse 12.3 is rather old now, it likely does not have recent GPU drivers e.g.)…

Also, can you attach as text file here the report generated by Help -> System Info (do not paste it directly in comment)?

No news since one week…

Hello,

for me it crashed on 2.75a, 2.76b, 2.77 after resuming from suspend or from hibernate.
Solution in Blender: File\User Preferences\System\Sound\Audio Dev set to none.
My solution I tested in all my three versions (2.75a, 2.76b, 2.77), all are OK now.
