Crash when deleting in edit mode

System Information
Ubuntu 14.04 64bit, NVidia Titan X
Windows 7 64bit

Blender Version
Broken: 2.77a (abf6f08)

When i try to delete vertices selected in attached file, Blender crashes. When I try to delete lower count of them, everything is fine.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • open attached file
  • try to delete preselected vertices

It is the same with 2.76 version.

And I experienced it on meshes imported with SHP importer: https://github.com/domlysz/BlenderGIS

There I filled another bug, don't know if it is related to this issue. Maybe SHP importer produces somewhat corrupted meshes? Blender shouldn't crash on them anyways, it should report some error ...

Importers that don't ensure correct mesh data need to run validate(),
https://www.blender.org/api/blender_python_api_current/bpy.types.Mesh.html#bpy.types.Mesh.validate

This should be fixed in the add-on.

For a quick workaround exit edit-mode and run this in the Python console: C.object.data.validate()
