Worked: It has never worked for me, in fact.

Short description of error
Ambient occlusion does not show in crevices or at intersections between two objects but on edges.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Open a new scene, add some objects and enable ambient occlusion from the properties panel.

Working fine for me. This is probably just another Intel driver issue, you can try if updating your Intel driver helps.

I will try to update the driver and see what happens, thank you for responding.

It seems like to get the driver upgrade, I will have to upgrade to Elcapitan which is up to 6Gb. Maybe some other time then.

Yeah,the joys of Mac systems… A few other tips that might help:

  • Try to tweak OGL settings in UserPreferences, System tab.
  • Try to tweak your GPU driver settings (e.g. try different values between 'performance' and 'quality' if you have such slider, etc.).

Beyond that, we cannot do much really, thanks for the report anyway…
