Windows 10 with 2x Nvidia GTX 970

Blender Version
Broken: 2.78 RC
Worked: 2.77

Short description of error
Open file with one bone already selected in Pose Mode. Try select bone another bone = Black screen

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
The (already) selected bone can be manipulated when the file is opened. The next selection seems to cause the freeze

Could you try it with OpenSubdiv compute turned on - in your user preferences? Removing OpenSubdiv remedies the problem for me, but then of course I have no OpenSubdiv. Once I enable it and try select more bones it freezes to black again...

Thanks for looking. Got to guess it has something specifically do with GTX 970 and OpenSubdiv.

Update: Re-installed drivers and upped the power settings. Seems to be working now
