Blender 2.42a crash afer trying to close or move render window
Closed, ArchivedPublicKNOWN ISSUE

Description

After every 4 or so renders when closing the render window Blender 2.42a crashes, even with simple scenes.
Thought might be to do with window manager as under Fluxbox Blender takes over the whole screen, thought closing window might just be throwing an interupt, however, after switching to KDE and simply moving a render window out of the way (fter the render was complete) it brought whole machine down in very bad way. Don't mind the odd quit, don't like full machine crashes.

using Fluxbox on Fedora core 5 linux, python 2.4 running on Dell 2.4Ghz PC. Using internal Intel Brookdale G/GE chipset which seems to work fairly well most of the time with Blender

Cheaper graphics cards have problems with closing windows, whilst the main window is still active.
We have never been able to find a reason for it... but we also don't have an active X11 coder around here.

This is also the reason why we recommend to not close the window, but use the blender hotkey ESC or F11 to push/pop the render window. There is also an alternative for the renderwindow now...

Moved report to opengl tracker.
