Blender Will Not Open After Installing On Mac Sierra 10.12.5

Description

After following the install instructions you provided for Mac users, Blender will not open after I try to launch it. I get the beachball/pinwheel and bouncing icon for a few minutes, then nothing at all.

Please can you specify the Blender's version you are trying to install, specific hardware?
Does a developer build from https://builder.blender.org/download/ (from the first section at the top)
work for you?
