MacOS 10.12.5 (16F73)
Mac Pro (Late 2013)
3.5 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon E5
AMD FirePro D700 6144 MB

Blender Version (2.78)

The 3D cursor is stuck and cannot be placed with the RMB in the object mode.
Control-S will set it to centre, but still no RMB function.
It works in the editing mode.
It shows up in other layers in the same position and does not react.

Checked user preferences. RMB should work.
Opening older backups does not help.
Reinstalling Blender did not help.
Different mouse did not help.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Do not know what made it happen. Was working on a build with empties, bones and constraints.

Most certainly some conflict in your custom keymaps settings. Please reload factory settings, should then work without issue, even when you switch again to left selection.
