Short description of error
This isn't really a bug. It is more of a performance problem. Back when the metallic shader was still around in EEVEE the program ran much faster on lower end hardware as well as higher-end hardware. It was a very optimised shader that looked realistic. I used to be able to have semi-complex scenes with the metallic shader but with the principled BSDF shader, I can only have a couple objects at a time.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Have a low to midrange pc
Run a scene with a couple principled BSDF shaders
Watch your computer die
