Blender Version
Broken: 2.79a

Short description of error
Problem is that when I try launching Blender blender window flashes and cmd window pops up with message"found bundled python: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Blender\2.79\python Error: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION". Everything ends in 1-2 seconds. I tried everything: deleting PATH in environment variable section (there was nothing "Python" related), installing older version of blender (2.73), installing blenders from steam and official server. Nothing worked and always same window with same error popped.

Can you try to launch blender *from* cmd commandline window? That way, console will remain open after the crash and you'll get full error report.

Note that python is probably not involved here, the actual error (Error: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION) means that somewhere in the whole Blender there is an invalid memory access (could also be some linked library, or GPU drivers, or...)

You can also try to start blender with factory settings (--fatory-startup option), run it with debug messages enabled (--debug option), and report here any interesting output.

That is nerve racking! I have the same problem and couldn't find any workaround. installed and deinstalled python and blender in different combinations... used other python installs.... nothing on the net seems to work.... this is really really sad!!!!

does anyone at all have a solution?
