Short description of error
In DopeSheet, when switching from Dopesheet to ShapeKey Editor and back, the option "Show sliders" is set to True, when it was False before switching.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Insert a keyframe on default cube.
Open Dopesheet, show slider is off by default.
switch dopesheet mode to Shapekey editor, and switch back to Dopesheet mode
--> Show slider is now on.

Technically not a bug.

While it's not that convenient, the fact is that under the hood, all the different modes share the same bunch of settings. As a result, we kindof have to guess what to do in each case when switching modes. Current behaviour is based on the following assumptions:

  • Changing to Shapekey Editor, you do want to show the sliders, as that's one of the main reasons that editor exists - to facilitate easier animation of shapekeys, in which case you need to see the sliders to adjust the values + insert keyframes (since the properties listbox doesn't let you see all the channels)
  • Changing back to the Dopesheet Editor however, you cannot assume whether the user had the sliders enabled before or not. So, it seemed like a better idea to just leave them in place.
