Blender crashing after installing gpu
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Hi everyone, so this is my issue:
Blender crashes every time i try to open it, first opens the command prompt which reports the following

"AL lib: (EE) UpdateDeviceParams: Failed to set 44100hz, got 48000hz instead
found bundled python: C:\Program Files\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.79\python"

Then the usual grey window appears but it crash down after few seconds.

I'm using the following hardware: i57400 and GTX1050Ti on a windows 10 pc.
The problem came only when i installed the graphic card, with the CPU graphic blender worked perfectly.
Now these are the premises:

  • I already tried updating the drivers (the first time by the vendor's CD, the second by windows, the third time directly by Nvidia's website)
  • I already reinstalled blender(manual deletion of all temp files)
  • No python references in my environment variables

Also i don't know if this is related or not but at this point i guess any information could help: simultaneously my vegas pro 15 started crushing at "Initializing GPU-Accelerated video processing".

Thanks in advance, i'm new to this forum so if missed any important information i'm sorry.

EDIT: I just managed to solve the issue by installing the version of blender 2.8, still wondering what happened to the 2.79 version :(
