Short description of error
Can't weight paint through the mesh. In 2.79 you could deselect "Occlude Geometry" and paint "through" the mesh. This was nice when creating trees and you wanted to weight paint all sides of limbs at once. In 2.8 Occlude Geometry got merged(I think) with another setting. Selecting/deselecting Show Xray doesn't act the same way.

Event Timeline

I'm a bit confused, but it seems activating "2D falloff" does it.

Sebastian Parborg (zeddb) changed the task status from Unknown Status to Archived.Feb 1 2019, 8:49 PM
Sebastian Parborg (zeddb) claimed this task.

As pointed out, in 2.8 you can just turn off Front Faces Only and active 2D Falloff to do this.

Where do I find the "Front Faces Only" and "2D Falloff" options in the UI???

Found it in the weight brush tools panel. Screenshot for anyone else looking. I wish answers were more specific for noobs.
