Can't switch mode when bone hidden
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

System Information
Operating system: Linux

Blender Version

version: 2.80 (sub 39), branch: blender2.8, commit date: 2019-01-01 23:46, hash: rB93a8556bf4b1, type: Release

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Select a bone
  • Go into pose mode
  • Hide the selected armature in the outliner using the eye icon (while in pose mode)
  • Try to select the other bone
  • It doesn't work and you are unable to change the mode you are in (pose mode)
  • Expected behavior, you should be able to select other armatures and change the mode even if the armature is hidden

Event Timeline

Sebastian Parborg (zeddb) lowered the priority of this task from 90 to 50.

It seems to get into a unexpected state when you hide the pose mode object. If I disable lock object modes, I get this assert when I try to select an other object:
source/blender/windowmanager/intern/wm_toolsystem.c:86, WM_toolsystem_ref_from_context(), at 'tref == sa->runtime.tool'

Germano Cavalcante (mano-wii) changed the task status from Confirmed to Needs Information from User.Jan 20 2020, 2:03 PM

Is this still reproducible in the latest daily build? https://builder.blender.org/download/
I cannot reproduce this with either the 2.80rc1 or current development versions of Blender.

Also can`t reproduce.
