Short description of error
Try to do a box select using lmb and drag or shift+ lmb and drag or B and lmb and drag or B and shift +lmb and drag does not select any other objects than the active one.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Open new blender project with default settings. Create a duplicate of the default cube. Try to select both objects using box select.

Works fine for me. Maybe try resetting blender settings and hotkeys.

Yup. Tried that several times. Got no success with it. Will try a new download maybe? Any other tips are greatly appreciated. :)

I opened the bug (closed 3 times) again and I specify the HD630 graphic card. with lasso it's working^^ and when all origins is activated box select works. if not, with select box, I can only select the active object, and a lamp,but no other objects and camera. in the same collection.
and little detail the middle mouse button is no more use-able, with the new select box, to erase if we configure it

Can´t confirm, all selection tools work as expected in Windows 10 with the latest build.

I have a Geforce GTX 1080Ti and a Geforce Titan X in my system, maybe your Intel Grafics Card is the problem?

There is already an open bug report about the box selection issue that @-- (zgorg) has: T57789: 3D viewport box select not working correct on Intel HD graphics

The bug reported by the original author may be different, but unless we can get more information from them this report can be closed.
