AFAIK, Blender 2.8 dropped the support for OpenCL on macOS because of outdated drivers.

Yepp, Apple has dropped support for both OpenCL and OpenGL. We are still trying to support OpenGL on mac but OpenCL support has been dropped on mac.

Ouch, really!? Do you mean we must work on Windows or Linux to continue with Blender 2.8? It's an incredible error from Apple!! can't believe it!

But more importantly, it also affects cycles rendering?

Yes, you can only render on CPU on OSX now with cycles.

wow, that really sucks... I was excited that my mac had a decent GPU, but now I'm finding out that almost nothing has support for it.
