Hi,
The file and directory permissions in the following archive are wonky:
blender-2.43-linux-glibc232-py24-i386.tar.bz2
The result is that some of the scripts are not available to under the File menu, even though they should be.
REPLICATE
1. Download blender-2.43-linux-glibc232-py24-i386.tar.bz2 into /opt
2. Change to "root"
3. cd /opt
4. tar jxf blender-2.43-linux-glibc232-py24-i386.tar.bz2
5. mv blender-2.43-linux-glibc232-py24-i386 blender
5. ls -lad blender/.blender/scripts
EXPECTED RESULTS
drwxr-xr-x 5 root root 3944 2007-02-15 17:40 /opt/blender/.blender/scripts
ACTUAL RESULTS
drwxr-x--- 5 root root 3944 2007-02-15 17:40 /opt/blender/.blender/scripts
This implies that no other user can use any of the scripts inside the scripts directory.
In actuality, the files and directory permissions are inconsistent.
RESOLUTION (aka WORKAROUND)
Set the proper file permissions as follows:
1. cd /opt/blender/.blender
2. chmod 644 $(find . -type f)
3. chmod 755 $(find . -type d)
