Blender crash at startup

Description

Blender crash at startup on windows xp, athlon x2 and nvidia graphics card:
the first windows start, then the second stay grey and crash.

Workaround : run blender in compatibility mode for windows nt4, 98 or 95.

Yes, be assured that blender should run fine on your system. There's something in your system that prevents it from running, most likely the way opengl (drivers) were installed/configured.

My graphic card is an Asus EN7800 GTX 256mo, with official driver 93.71.

For OpenGL, the desactivation of material acceleration do nothing

I can only encourage you to search for a solution. There must be something... you might try blenderartists.org forums for support?

This is a generic request to test your bug report and see if it is still an issue in 2.5alpha2 if so please let me know by making a comment in this report ie 'also in 2.5alpha2' and I will add it to the 2.5 bug list.
