Does other software have transform operators in the UI? After all, we have gizmos, so this seems somewhat redundant, and would clutter the UI imo.

Only benefit I can think of is for scale and rotate in animation editors. Are there any other reasons?

The main reason would be to provide a visual way to find the shortcuts G, R and S.
