Frame rate does not exceed 120

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Base framerate modifier has no effect when multiplier exceeds a value of 120fps, even though it would imply it would mathematically resolve and it selectible in the interface; the viewport never exceeds 120 frames/sec.

Most likely a VSync issue, especially if it's exactly 120Hz. Try disabling it in the Nvidia control panel.


But also: What playback sync do you have set?

We indeed follow the monitor V-Sync, by design.

If your monitor can't refresh more than 120 times per second, there is not much point to redraw at a higher rate.

I'm asking that physics simulation and scene respect the frame rate beyond the the draw rate for viewport rendering.

Please reopen this as a feature request

Physics simulation systems often already work at subframe steps though, quality of the simulation should not be tied to redraw frame rate.
