Cannot select beveled curves in the viewport wherever the bevel is not visible if bevel start and/or end are set. The curve is still visible in the viewport. Selection is only possible by using the Outliner, or by explicitly clicking on the origin of the curve.
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
- Create a Circle curve
- Create a Bezier curve
- With the Bezier curve selected, in the Object Data tab for the Bezier curve, under Geometry > Bevel, choose the Circle curve for Object
- Also under Geometry > Bevel, change Bevel End to anything other than 1, for example 0.1
- Deselect the Bezier curve
- Try selecting the Bezier curve again by clicking on it where the bevel is visible, around that "0.1" part > can be done
- Try selecting the Bezier curve again by clicking its origin > can be done
- Try selecting the Bezier curve again by using the Outliner > can be done
- Try selecting the Bezier curve again by clicking on it where the bevel isn't visible > cannot be done
