  • Does it help to select GLSL under Preferences > Viewport > Textures > Image Display Method?
  • Does it help to hide the image editor showing the render?

So displaying image takes about seven times its render time?

  • No
  • Seems that no. Tried to switch from image editor to 3D view and after some time back. Remaining render time didn't improved.
