opened a .blend created in 2.8.50, made a few changes, immediat crash pressing ctrl-s to save, no changes were saved in the blend or the quit file
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
open a .blend created in an earlier version of 2.8 and attempt to save

I can't reproduce this. Does this still happen with the latest blender beta?
