Can you verify if it's still an issue with the latest build?

I couldn't reproduce it with rBfee600f47980, but there have been some fixes that sound like they could be related.

Tested with the latest build blender-2.80.0-git.f87bba0368ea-windows64 - no crash, issue solved.
