Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.80 (sub 74), branch: master, commit date: 2019-06-18 14:14, hash: rB1dab26afb9c8
Worked: (optional)

Short description of error
[Please fill out a short description of the error here]Cannot import obj files into blender

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
[Please describe the exact steps needed to reproduce the issue]Try Importing an OBJ - nothing appears in the viewport and no info shows in the Outliner
[Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file (as simple as possible)] Based on Default Setup - it happens no matter which .blend file is open. It used to work fine. My current workaround is to Import into 2.79 (which it does flawlessly) and then copy to clipboard and paste into 2.8 where it acts normally as an OBJ.

Can import that file without problems:

  • Are there any error messages?
  • Does this happen with Factory Settings as well?
  • Does this happen in a build from today as well?

Issue resolved with last daily I tried.
