Shape key + Vertex groups wrong behaviour on value slider

Broken: v2.8 RC 2

Short description of error

Assigning vertex groups to shape keys, changes the impact the shape key has on the mesh.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  1. Creat a Base "neutral" shape key on your object
  2. Create a shape key with some deformation
  3. Duplicate the deformation shape key from step 2
  4. Assign a vertex group to the second deformation shape key (from step 3)
  1. The impact from the "value" slider on this last shape key is suddenly much lower then it should be.

I can't reproduce.
Effects of shape keys are added up. There is a possibility of misunderstanding.

Please provide a .blend file.

I tried it again with a simple cube and the error is indeed gone.
{F7632070}The error is only present in my specific blend file where I used the rigify addon.


So the first shape key "muscle" applies to the whole body.
The other shape keys are copies of this same morph, but limited to a specific muscle group.
For some reason the strenght has to be much higher on the individual groups to achieve the same result.

I assume this is a bug in the rig since you cannot reproduce it on a simpler example. So I'm closing this (help for fixing rigs should be found on other sites like blenderartists).
When you find a way to reproduce the issue on a smaller example, feel free to create a new bug report.
