Limit on VSE Transform Effect
Closed, ArchivedPublic

Description

Resolution: Fixed

Windows 2.44

Not really a bug, but a limitation. I am compositing some HD video sizes, and cannot use the Transform effect to shift a video more than 1000 pixels right, and no negative pixels to the left past its boundary (even though it lets me enter a negative number, it does not shift them off-screen).

see attached blend. I have my base video at 800x600. I want to scroll, like a banner, an image 1800x300 ontop of the video, from 1800 to -1800. If I enter 800 in the starting X offset, I would expect it to be shifted off 800 pixels, completely off the screen, but it isnt (I am thinking it works off the resolution of the image being shifted.) OK, so I try to enter 1800. When I press enter, it sets it to 1000. Regarding the -X offset (I want the banner to scroll off the left side of the screen) same thing.

The VSE is so fast, it would be nice to be able to handle offsets bigger than 1000 pixels, especially for HD.
