Short description of error
Timeline menus and button tooltips are missing shortcuts in many workspaces ex. Animation, Compositing and Video Editor:

Steps to reproduce

  • Start blender --factory-startup
  • In the default (Layout) workspace, Timeline editor, open the Marker menu.
  • See that various menu items have hotkeys assigned to them.
  • Go to the Animation workspace, Timeline editor, open the Marker menu.
  • See that there are no hotkeys assigned.

Workspaces with hotkeys in Timeline Marker menu:

  • Layout
  • Masking
  • Rendering

Workspaces without hotkeys in Timeline Marker menu:

  • Animation
  • Compositing
  • Video Editing

Event Timeline

I am not able to reproduce that bug. Are you using factory defaults?

Yes, same thing in the official 2.80.
Ex. shortcut for Play(the timeline header button) is visible in Layout Workspace, but not in ex. Animation, Compositing, Video Editor, 2D Animation, 2D Full Animation etc.

Changing the locale from DK to Eng/US doesn't have any effect. So is this a Windows thing?

Julian Eisel (Severin) lowered the priority of this task from 90 to 50.
Philipp Oeser (lichtwerk) changed the subtype of this task from "Report" to "Bug".

Maybe helps: tooltips come back as soon as you move the border between the two animation editors in those non-working workspaces ever so slightly...
