Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.81 (sub 16), branch: master, commit date: 2019-10-29 20:49, hash: rBaff6446e064f
Worked: (non-applicable. New feature exclusive to 2.81)

Short description of error
As I was fiddling around with this version I found these two things:

  • It's not possible to search for files starting with the letter N , as pressing it opens the settings panel instead even when you have something selected in the file list.
  • Deleting several files asks user confirmation for every single file.

These are feature requests, not bugs. closing.

How is this a feature request when the file explorer already does alphabetical searches? File deletion is also a feature that already exists in the file explorer.

  • It's not possible to search for files starting with the letter N , as pressing it opens the settings panel instead even when you have something selected in the file list.

This feature doesn't work as you seem to assume it should.

To search for files click on the top-right search text field and type in the name.

Alright. What about the other one? You can delete multiple files at once, but it's essentially deleting each file individually and asking for confirmation each time, which is not what you'd expect when you delete multiple files at once.

I can't redo the second issue with today's master or blender-v2.81-release, both delete the selection on Linux.

Also, avoid grouping bug reports in the future, it complicates triage.
