Fade Geometry overlay in pose mode blocks object selection

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Open:

  • Note that Lock Object Modes is disabled and that you can select Cube and Bone without exiting Pose Mode.
  • In Pose Mode enable Fade Geometry overlay.
  • Try to select Cube. It doesn't select.

I believe this is expected behavior. The Fade Geometry was designed to help animators see and select bones. This is not a regression as it happens in 2.81 and 2.80.

@Clément Foucault (fclem) yes that was the intended behavior. The goal of the overlay was that animators in b2.79 were switching from solid to wireframe node to select bones. To optimize this workflow we introduced the Bone Selection Overlay. If you hover with the mouse over the toggle it still describes this as the Bone Selection Overlay.
