Short description of error
The Clipping Border Feature results in a crash, when its drawn, even on the default scene

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Based on the default scene

  1. Launch Blender
  2. Press Alt + B to activate the clipping Border
  3. Draw a border
  4. Blender Crashes.

I Noticed this when I was trying to rig a character arm. Tried it on the default scene, the crash occured. Updated to the latest release as at 20/Jan/2020 10:18AM WAT, but the crash occurs consistently.

Can't redo this on Linux + NVIDIA.

  • Check your drivers are up to date.
  • Check if this worked in previous Blender releases.

Its works fine for me on 2.81a release.

only the Beta versions are crashing.

Thanks for the report. This GPU is below the minimum requirements for Blender, so we no longer provide support for it. https://www.blender.org/download/requirements/

Installing the latest graphics driver sometimes helps to make such GPUs work, see here for more information. https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/dev/troubleshooting/gpu/index.html

If that doesn't help, you can use a previous version: https://www.blender.org/download/previous-versions/

On 2.81a,

I opened the scene I was working on, and trying to use the clip border on the hand and rig, results in a crash

i added the scene causing the crash
