Short description of error
Circle Select has issues with dense meshes. It appears that some vertices
{F8335562}on surfaces at glancing angles are obscured by others on the same plane. This makes it very difficult to create a complete selection without rotating the view...which can't be done in the circle select modal.
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
With a dense mesh:
- Enter Vertex Select in Edit Mode
- Use the circle select tool on a surface that is at a glancing angle to the view point. In the attached file, try circle selecting on the top face.
Selection quality is highly dependent on pixel density, so to reproduce the error, you may need to resize the 3d Viewport. My monitor resolution is set to 1920x1080. On a 4k monitor, the vertices would presumably be spread out more, and selection may not be effected. Likewise, the further out I zoom on the cube, the lower the selection quality is and even less vertices are selected.
This issue has been around since early alpha versions of 2.80.
