Edges in Blender 2.83 too thin
Closed, ArchivedPublic

Description

System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.18362-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: GeForce GTX 1070/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 442.19

Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.83 (sub 9), branch: master, commit date: 2020-03-15 22:43, hash: rBf06a6e92bc5e
Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)

Short description of error
I compared the 2.82 and 2.83, found 2.83 edges more thinner in edit mode, even only half a pixel, I don‘t know whether this is a functional improvements, or other causes of the problem. This is not friendly in modeling, even not easy to see in some dark materials; whether we can go back to the previous thickness, or to provide the options in the theme setting.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
[Please describe the exact steps needed to reproduce the issue]
[Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file (as simple as possible)]

You can change line thickness in user preferences interface tab.
This doesn't seem to be issue with thin lines. I guess wires are drawn with quite a bit of transparency?

@Clément Foucault (fclem) Do you know if this was intentional change?

Edit: I was too slow. But still this may be unintentional

This is caused by the changes of colorspace for rendering. So this was by design.

@Richard Antalik (ISS), Thank you for your reply, change thickness in user preferences interface tab also change all interface. I think this not the best way.

Hmmm, I don't think this is a suggestion. It is a bug IMO, or at the very least a paper cut. There is only option to change all lines both for UI and edges to THICK and THIN and auto in preferences which makes absolutely all the lines in Blender either extremely thick or thin. Basically in 2.83 we have 2 extremes and can't change that... Also, changing colorspace preferences doe not seem to affect thickness of lines...

@Clément Foucault (fclem) Will this improve? Very tired eyes in wireframe mode.

referring to user requests and feedback section it's like intelligently ask to leave...
Here need to be section with UI bugs...these are also bugs that are difficult to get along with.
