Set handle type doesn't work in Blender 2.82 for NURBS curves
Closed, ArchivedPublic

Description

System Information
Operating system: Windows 10
Graphics card: nVidia GTX 970

Blender Version
Broken: 2.82
Worked: No idea.

  1. Add a NURBS curve.
  2. Edit mode.
  3. Select all (or one) vertex.
  4. Control Points -> Set Handle Type -> Vector
  5. Nothing happens.

According to the internet it should make the vertices sharp instead of smooth. The documentation also says it should do this: https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/modeling/curves/editing/control_points.html#set-handle-type

Edit: It seems like it isn't supposed to work on NURBS, but then the UI should either hide the option when you are editing NURBS, or give you an error if you try to use it on a NURBS object.

That is the documentation is for general curves.

As you can see, nurbs a curve doesn't have an handle types, so it doesn't get affected by this setting. If you want handles, you want to use bezier curves.

Actually it seems like it does work, but only for Bezier curves, not NURBS. That makes sense I guess but it should at least give you an error message or something if you try to use it on NURBS.
