Short description of error
Same as this T73191: Some Preferences options are locked.

The "Save & Load" button in the lower left of the preferences window doesn't work when you first open it. It only works after moving the window.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Open the preferences (Edit > Preferences)
  • Click on the "Save & Load" button (the hamburger menu button in the lower left)
  • The button does nothing
  • Move the preferences window
  • Click on the button again, and now it will work

I found one: blender-2.83-85de07e64c96-windows64

I can recreate this and similar issues (e.g. disappearing scrollbars with mouse close to screen edge) on macOS Catalina, so at least it's not Windows only. I didn't investigate yet, but my first guess would be that this is caused by rB6c4ef6159cf93.

From the screenshots in the description it does not look like this is using a hiDPI screen. @TheRedWaxPolice (TheRedWaxPolice) & @Evan Wilson (EAW) right?

This might be related to T73191 where the actual cause was unknown @Julian Eisel (Severin).

Correct in my case, I am not using a hiDPI screen.
